Stimsonite® road studs
Stimsonite® road studs are an essential product in ensuring highway safety, particularly in wet or dark conditions. The raised profile of studs provide guidance for drivers, where standard markings can be worn by the surface water. They also provide an audible warning to distracted road users for increased safety.
Overview of road studs
Stimsonite® is a name synonymous with quality and performance. Our road studs are used to provide a constant guide at night from vehicle headlights, ensuring long-distance delineation of the road.
Formulated for performance
Stimsonite® road studs are made from hard-wearing, high-performance injection-moulded polymers and abrasion-resistant facings. When tested in trial, our road studs have been found to hold 100% retention. The prismatic design and advanced optics of our road studs help to maximise their reflective properties. Our patented prismatic reflective lenses have been measured for retained retroreflectivity under ASTM D4280-05, demonstrating clear delineation across all road conditions (wet, dry, and at night).

Our Stimsonite® road studs are designed to meet highway and road regulations, available in a full spectrum of lens colours in both uni-directional and bi-directional configurations, as required. Engineered to perform on both asphalt and concrete surfaces, they are suitable for various applications, whether that is delineating hard shoulders or separating lanes.

Where are road studs applied on a motorway?
